Botswana have started their preparations for the upcoming 2018 COSAFA Women’s championship.
The regional tournament is scheduled to be hosted by South Africa between August and September.
Botswana recorded one draw, one win and one defeat in Group C during the last year’s tournament.
As a result, they could not advance to the knockout stages in a competition which was hosted by Zimbabwe.
The Botswana Football Association (BFA) released the following statement read:
“The senior women’s national team will be competing in the upcoming COSAFA tournament that will be hosted in South Africa form 25th August – 08 September 2018.”
“The team scheduled to have training camp on the 03rd -11th August and 19th -25th August respectively.”
:National team coach has highlighted that she wishes for her team to go to the 2018 edition to improve the 2017 performance.”
“The gaffer said her team will be a blend of youth and experience having noticed some players in the regional woman’s leagues,” a statement read.
